WS-6

Final day of LIM23 was successfully held, with charity event in Bunaken. To end the 6 days of IPM Learning, we ended the event with our final workshop, remote island pain management charity and real patient workshop in Bunaken.
The venue was Puskesmas Bunaken, attended by local citizens with complaints of pain. It was challenging to perform such procedures, but definitely worth it, as it helps relieve the patient with a better quality of life. Genicular RFA was performed in geriatric patient with late-stage Osteoarthritis. The day ended with beautiful sunset and the breathtaking view of Bunaken Island.

The 5th day of Learning IPM in Manado was successfully held, with the opening of Manado Pain Rehab Center. In this event, participants also took part in real patient workshop, for patients with complaints of pain. The charity event for pain patients were attended by numerous cases, one of the most interesting ones is the case of Sacroiliac Joint Palisade RFA, in chronic low back pain.
We hope that this charity event may help improving the patient’s quality of life. Opening of this clinic is expected to play a role in expanding pain management in Manado, as one of the centers for pain management, especially in Eastern parts of Indonesia.

We are excited to announce the completion of our 4th day of Learning IPM in Manado 2023: Symposium and Workshop. This session consists of panel lecture: Holistic Approach in Pain Management from PMR Point of View, followed by a series of multidisciplinary workshops. The hybrid sessions welcome all pain specialists, general practitioners, and nurses practicing in pain management, for a better knowledge and understanding in pain management. After a panel lecture involving all health professionals, workshops are available for respective fields. Knee and Shoulder ultrasound scanning on healthy volunteers are available for pain specialists. General practitioners discusses their fundamental role in early management of pain patients. Nurses are encouraged with deeper knowledge of their roles in assisting a seamless interventional pain management procedures and pain care. We hope this symposium strengthens the knowledge of health professionals in pain management, for a world free from pain.

The 3rd day of Learning IPM in Manado 2023 with the largest number of participants: WS3 – 3MLP Ultrasound-Guided IPM on Musculoskeletal Cadaveric Workshop!
This session was attended by aspiring pain physicians who intended to train their motoric skills in performing ultrasound-guided IPM procedures. Both healthy volunteers and cadaveric scanning are available, ensuring the best experience for the participants.
Full-day session enables participant to scan musculoskeletal structures from upper to lower extremity. The session is guided by our respected facilitators: dr. Theresia CT Novy, Sp.KFR, MKes, FIPP, CIPS, dr. Fortuna Meita, Sp.S, Mkes., CIPS, FIPP, dr. Dewa Gede Satria Ambara, M.Biomed, Sp.OT, CIPS, and dr. Gunawan Kurniadi, Sp.KFR.

Learning IPM in Manado 2023 continues to day 2: WS2 – Ultrasound-Guided IPM Exam Preparation Cadaveric Workshop. This session was attended by pain intervention physicians who intended to test their ability to perform ultrasound-guided IPM procedures.
Participants are given 15 minutes each to carry out IPM procedures on Spine, Joint, Soft Tissue, and Nerve. The whole session is guided by our respected facilitators: dr. Theresia CT Novy, Sp.KFR, MKes, FIPP, CIPS, dr. Fortuna Meita, Sp.S, Mkes., CIPS, FIPP, and dr. Dewa Gede Satria Ambara, M.Biomed, Sp.OT, CIPS.
Our workshop is exceptional as it not only offers scanning on healthy volunteers but also facilitates doctors with full-day, hands-on cadaveric injections.

Learning IPM in Manado 2023 finally begins on August 1st 2023, with its first workshop: C-Arm Guided IPM Exam Preparation Cadaveric Workshop. The event was held in Forensic Installation of Kandou Central General Hospital, Manado.

Our enthusiastic participants are facilitated with hands-on cadaveric injection workshop of C-arm guided IPM procedures, with our respected facilitators dr. Theresia CT Novy,Sp.KFR, MKes, FIPP, CIPS and dr. Fortuna Meita, Sp.S, Mkes.,CIPS,FIPP. Participants are given their own allocated time to conduct 4 procedures, including Lumbar Facet Block, Trigeminal Ganglion Block, Stellate Ganglion Block, Thoracic Facet Block, among others.
